Our Scripture reading today is 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing."
It is one of the shortest verses in the Word of God, but if applied, it will have a long lasting impact. It can be what we refer to as a major or minor decision. It can be about a new job or new car. Decisions are made every day. Do we take advantage of the wisdom God has promised us? There is no doubt that we need more wisdom. James 1:5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
Remember that prayer is communication with God. Prayer is seeking to find the will and heart of God. This can be done only through the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" Since prayer is communication with God, we can pray anytime, anyplace, and anywhere. God is always available. It is good to have time in the "prayer closet", but it also good to pause and pray multiple times throughout the day. If you have ceased to pray, it is time to start praying once again. God is the source of everything we need!
