Good Works Are Important

Today's Scripture reading is Titus 3:1-3.

Verse 1, "...to be ready to every good work."

God provided salvation for us that we might be free from sin, but also that we might be people practice doing good.  We read in Ephesians 2:10, "...created in Christ Jesus unto good works."  What Christ Jesus did in us will no doubt be displayed on the outside.  

A good work is more than a thought or word.  In order for it to be a good work, there will be action involved.  These good works should be seen first by those who are closest to us.  Do your family members see and are they benefited by your good works?  This ministry of good works should continue to our friends, co-workers and even strangers.  

Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven."
