Our Scripture reading today is Genesis 50:19-21.
Verse 21, "Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them."
Joseph is having a last days meeting with his brothers. By last days, I am referring to his time on earth being limited. In verse 19 and 21, he tells them to "fear not." This goes back to how his brothers treated him years before this and now Joseph has quite a bit of power and could get revenge if he so desired. We do learn a valuable lesson on forgiveness from Joseph. Don't overlook it.
My heart was encouraged this morning to fear not. We might say we are worried about this physical problem. It could be we are worried about our finances. Then there are the waves the media keeps in front of us. When does it end? I can tell you when it ends. It ends when we decide to stop fearing and START fully trusting in the God that made heaven and earth. The One true God is our Heavenly Father. He always has everything under control. While reading this, we might be in the midst of some deep turmoil. Listen to the words of Joseph, "Fear ye not..."
God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
