Our Scripture reading today is John 10:31-33.
Verse 33, "The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God."
There are many religious people today like the Jews in our text who only see Jesus Christ as being a man. For some, He is revered and respected, but not as God. They have yet to recognize Him as the Son of God. The Word of teaches us that Jesus Christ is God. On November 11, we taught on the pre-incarnate Son of God. If you were unable to be a part of this service, I would encourage you to take the time to listen to the preaching. (https://vimeo.com/478141939 - you can watch the entire service or the preaching starts at the 32 minute mark.)
It is very important that we be able to explain from the Word of God Who Jesus Christ is. Why was His death, burial and resurrection so important? The purpose is always to bring someone to the realization that Jesus Christ is the only hope for mankind's forgiveness of sin and eternal life in Heaven. The angel from God delivered a message to Joseph in Matthew 1:21, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." This same message needs to be delivered today to a lost, sinful world.
Tell someone about Jesus today!
