Our Scripture reading today is Genesis 5:24, "And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."
What a way to go into the presence of the Lord for all eternity! For sure this was not the first time that Enoch walked with God and yet it was his appointed time to leave this world. Enoch walked with God. What does that mean exactly? We know from Scripture that no man has seen God. (John 1:18 and 1 John 4:12) I submit to you one does not have to see God to walk with Him.
When we are in agreement with God we are walking with God. Amos 3:3, "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" When we are walking by faith, we are walking with God. 2 Corinthians 5:7, "For we walk by faith, not by sight." Hebrews 11:5 gives a little more detail about Enoch, "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was found not, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God." When we walk in the light, we are walking with God. (1 John 1:5-7) Each one of God's children have the same opportunity that Enoch had to walk with God.
It is imperative that God's people take a walk with God every day!
