Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 1:26-29.
Verse 27, "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;"
Like the Corinthian church of old, in and of ourselves we have little to offer to the LORD. The sooner we recognize how weak we are, the greater opportunities we will have to serve and bring honour to the LORD. God is in the business of exalting and giving grace to the humble. It is His greatness in us that brings about the confounding of the wise and mighty. It is His wisdom that enables us to help guide people to the truth.
1 Corinthians 1:21, "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe."
