The Value Of His Word

Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 1:1-3.

Verse 3, "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

Yes, we are reading the same verses again this morning. :) The individual being referred to in verse three is someone who delights in and meditates on the Word of God.  There is much to profit from when time is spent in the Word of God.  The main emphasis to me in this verse is the life that the Word of God provides.  God's Word shows us how to have eternal life as well as a fruitful Christian life.  

1. Strength - "like a tree"

2. Growth - "fruit in his season"

3. Peace - "leaf...shall not wither."

4. Purpose - "whatsoever he doeth shall prosper"
