Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 24:16, "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief."
We are labeled a "just man" only by the grace of God. The Lord Jesus Christ made it possible for us to be justified when He died, was buried, and rose again from the dead. Our salvation in Christ does not guarantee we will not fall (sin). The flesh we still have is very powerful and must be crucified every day. When we do fall, we have the ability to rise up again only by the grace of God. His grace saves us and sustains us. If you are down today, rise up by confessing and forsaking whatever put you down. God will forgive if we confess ours sins.
