Our Scripture reading is Judges 8:1, "And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply."

The men of Ephraim were upset with Gideon for not communicating with them about the battle against Midianites.  I am not so sure it was due to missing the battle or missing the recognition for being in the battle.  Maybe it would have been better for them to be thankful that God gave the victory and rejoiced with those who were victorious.

We can get upset sometimes when there is miscommunication.  Let's face it, it happens and it will happen again.  We all make mistakes in our communication.  I would like to encourage us to take a step back and take a deep breath.  Too many times, we react instead of respond.  The Holy Spirit will lead us to respond and the flesh will lead us to react.  Follow the Holy Spirit's leading!
