Our Scripture reading today is Joshua 3:13, "And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap."
The priests needed to exercise faith in taking the first step into the water. We are told that it would not have been the calmest of waters and yet they were to step in while holding the ark of the covenant. God would take care of the rest. Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
This is exactly what God wants to see from our lives today. We take a step of faith and then God will take care of the rest. We step out into the unknown and God opens the way. God can and should be trusted. He never fails!
