Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 24:16, "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief."

There is no way that a follower of Jesus Christ can avoid the difficulties and challenges of life.  They will come and we are encouraged by this proverb that whenever they come, we can rise up and over them.  We have God's Spirit to help to not only overcome the difficulties but to learn from them.  I remember hearing it said that we should never waste a trial or difficulty.

“The real power to stand up against life, to profit by its buffetings, to make capital out of its disadvantages, to collect tribute from its tribulations, is that of the righteousness of conduct which results from walking in the ways of wisdom, by yielding to the inspiration and authority of the fear of Jehovah.” (Morgan)
