Our Scripture reading today is Luke 9:62, "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

The looking back in our text is in reference to the old life before we came to Christ.  There will not be anything in the kingdom of God that looks anything like what we were before we got saved.  Everything on the inside was made new and over time the outside will also change.  It is impossible not to change if we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us.  He guides to all truth.

It is very important that we look forward to the LORD.  He is our Saviour and faithful Shepherd.  Our life will stay the straight course if we do not look back.  “No ploughman ever ploughed a straight furrow looking back over his shoulder.” (Barclay) Keep your attention on Jesus Christ.  He will keep your steps going in the correct direction.
