Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 6:33-34.
Verse 33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
When we seek God's kingdom first, He will look after our "kingdom". By "kingdom", I am referring to our time in these physical bodies. I have discovered time and time again that God does a much better job meeting my needs than I do. In this part of the Sermon on the Mount, we are told that if we put God first, He will provide all of our daily needs. (Verse 31, "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?")
Could it be that you are burning both ends of your candle? What does this mean? It means there is a possibility you have put you in charge of meeting all the financial needs of your family. You are working as if you are paying the rent. Should we work hard? Yes, we should be hard workers giving God all the glory. However, we should not be working so much that God gets no time. How much time in your 168 hour week does God get? Are you serving in your local church? We need a revival in the church of seeking God FIRST! Never forget, everything we have was given to us by our Heavenly Father. He will always deserve the preeminence in our lives.
Have a wonderful day!
