Good Morning,

Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:6-7.

Verse 7, "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."

The Son of God was not robed in anything of a costly nature.  These swaddling clothes were more than likely torn strips of cloth.  A humble beginning in His attire as well as His bed.  One would not imagine the feeding place of an animal to be where the baby Jesus would lay His holy head for the first time.  This was not a comfortable place for Mary as well.  She was not in her hometown let alone being in a "barn" to deliver her first child.

There is humility wrapped all around the birth of our Saviour!  May this reminder lead us to be men and women of humility now and throughout the year.

Your friend,
Pastor
