Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 2:11-13.
Verse 13, "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ."
As sinners, we had no hope of eternal life. Our eternity would have been the lake of fire with no way out. Verse 4 of this chapter says, "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us," The love of God made it possible for sinners who were far off to be brought close to Him. His One and only Son paid the penalty for our sin. Jesus Christ suffered, died and shed His pure blood that we might be forgiven and cleansed.
The righteousness of the Lord Jesus gives us access to the Father. The righteousness of the Lord Jesus enables us to live in victory in this sin cursed world. As we meditate on His righteousness, it should cause us to bring Him praise, glory and honour. Psalm 7:17, "I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high."
