Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 16:15, "I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)"
Our theme for the church-wide prayer meeting last month was labourers. We prayed for labourers for our missionaries as well as Bible preaching churches in the Vancouver area. The attention of the prayer time was also directed toward the need we have for labourers in our church. If there was ever a time that we need more people to serve in some capacity, it is now. Like the house of Stephanas in Corinth, there is a need for people to help minister to the saints.
The salvation that God provided should mean more to us than a fire insurance policy. Is there some way that you are serving the LORD? Could you be doing more for the LORD? The motivation for doing should come from a love for the One Who gave everything in order that we might be saved.
