Our Scripture reading today is Luke 17:5-6.
Verse 5, "And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith."
If you have not added it yet, this would be a good daily prayer request. When we ask for our faith to increase, we could actually be asking for a trial or difficult situation. It is in challenging times that our faith is tested. This testing time is needed in order to strengthen and increase the faith we currently have. The writer of Hebrews tells us, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (11:1) If we have never experienced a certain trial, faith in God will be what carries us through it. Once through it, our faith will become sight in that particular trial. This means our faith grows and is stronger for the next life event.
God has proven Himself faithful from the beginning of time. This is not going to change in your current situation. It may not be going the direction you want it to, but God knows exactly what you need and those whom you influence need from you. God is the master potter and He is lovingly moulding you into a vessel for His honour and glory. Psalm 73:28, "But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works."
