Today’s Scripture reading is Acts 13:35-37.
Verse 36, "For David, after he had served his own generation..."
David was able to look back and see that he did serve his own generation. David was not perfect, but was a "man after God's own heart". How many times have we read David's Psalms in a time of great need? He served his own generation. The take home truth today is striving to finish faithful. In order to do that we need the help of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. (John 16:13) He guides us by the Word of God. We must stay close to God's Word. We must continue to read God's Word, study God's Word, and listen to God's Word preached and taught. Faithful Christians are more than likely close to God's Word.
2 Timothy 2:7, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" Your generation needs to see you finish faithful!
