Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 9:12-14.
Verse 12, "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."
I trust you were able to be a part of the livestream services yesterday. God met with us and we give Him all the glory! The verse we are emphasizing today was also mentioned in the 3pm service. What is God trying to tell you? Remember, God's Word is a living, personal Book.
When reading this verse this morning, my heart highlighted the word, eternal. The plan of salvation that God provided allows all mankind the opportunity to receive eternal life. The Lord Jesus Christ (our Great High Priest) shed His holy blood in order deliver us (redemption) eternally from the penalty of sin. Once His blood is applied to our sin record, we are cleansed of that sin and Heaven is our eternal home. Have you humbly applied His sacrifice to your life? His sacrifice is the ONLY way to be freed from sin's penalty.
Fanny Crosby explains about redemption in her hymn, Redeemed:
Redeemed—how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child, and forever, I am.
Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
His child, and forever, I am.
