Our Scripture reading today is Acts 20:31-32.
Verse 32, "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified."
In my opinion, we can never say too much about the grace of God. It is the only way we sinners could be saved. Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" I remember one definition of grace being, "God's kindness to us when we deserve punishment." When a sinner comes to Jesus Christ for salvation, it is not the end of grace. We need God's grace every day of our saved lives too. Dr. Luke writes in our text this morning of the importance of God's grace in building our lives for His glory. It is impossible to work our way to Heaven and it is equally impossible to work our way to sanctification. The grace of almighty God is needed to overcome temptation and live from victory to victory.
We can all rejoice today that His grace is and always be sufficient for our every need!
