Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 92:1-4.
Verse 4, "For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands."
Maybe you've heard the expression, "He's got butter fingers." It does not mean he has butter on his fingers. What it does mean is that he finds it very difficult to catch something. Usually it is in reference to playing a sport like football. He is always dropping the ball possibly because he has weak hands.
Our Scripture for today points to God's hands as being strong and providing the victory in our life. We are completely secure in His hands. The hands of God are all powerful and all loving at the same time. Acts 7:50, "Hath not my hand made all these things?" The theme verse we have chosen points to our past and present. When meditating on what God has done ("hast made me glad..."), it will cause us to live by faith knowing He will continue to work. (I will triumph...")
The work of God started with our salvation and it continues every day with our sanctification. There will come a day and it could be very soon that He will complete His work in us through our glorification. The Psalmist said he was glad because of the works of his God. Today, is a day of gladness for the child of God. Turn your frown around into a smile. Rejoice in the LORD, today!!
