Today's Scripture reading is Isaiah 57:14-16.
Verse 15, "...to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."
A prerequisite for revival is to be humble and contrite. Humility is to be low and contrite means to be crushed or brought low. Far too many times we have allowed pride to find its way into our heart. As we discovered in our Sword Drill yesterday, pride will force God to resist us. The opposite is true of someone who is humble. Luke 14:11, "For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." As we recognize our inadequacies, God moves in and supplies all we need. Psalm 18:2, "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."
The LORD Jesus is ALL we need!
