Our Scripture reading today is Acts 18:25, "This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John."

We learn something from Apollos that is greatly needed in our lives today.  Dr. Luke says that Apollos was, "fervent in the spirit".  This literally means that he was bubbling over with enthusiasm.  Someone might say that he was on fire for God.  Where is this type of individual today?  Oh, you can find them at a hockey game for sure.  They are fervent in spirit for hockey.  Where are the fervent in spirit for the things of the Lord?  Who are the fervent in spirit at Anchor Baptist Church?  Everyone is fervent about something.  As a born again Christian, you ought to be fervent about living for and serving the Lord.  Does God not deserve this type of fervency from His children?
