Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 6:9-10.
Verse 10, "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."
A daily goal worth striving for is to seek to do something good for at least one individual. Each of us praying that God would lead us to the one or more people who need encouragement for that particular day. The Apostle Paul then says we should take it up another notch in relation to doing good to the family of God. Everyone needs our good deeds, but especially our brothers and sisters in Christ.
You might not have too many of these opportunities to do good. Shouldn't we label this as a prayer request? Matthew 7:7, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" The more we are sensitive to the needs of others, the more we will see times to show them God's love and compassion. Hebrews 13:16, "But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." 1 Timothy 6:18, "That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;"
Have a blessed day!
