Our Scripture reading today is Luke 9:62, "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
“No ploughman ever ploughed a straight furrow looking back over his shoulder.” (Barclay) There is never a good time to look back and stop serving the LORD. We should keep our eyes on the One Who is faithfully leading us to accomplish the task He has called us to do. Every child of God is called to serve Him. God has given us everything we have. He alone is worthy of us surrendering our lives for His glory.
Jesus Christ is our example as He was determined to follow the will of His Father. Luke 9:51, "And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem," Every day we are moving closer to eternity with our Saviour. We must continue to look to Him, the author and finisher of our faith.
