Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 7:24-25, "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."
Wisdom comes in not only hearing the Word of God but also obeying the Word of God. It prepares us for the stormy days that will eventually come. There have been numerous times in recent days when a verse or two from God's Word was just what was needed to make it through the day. It will be a lamp and a light when we do not know which way to go.
How we treat the Word of God will determine what kind of a life we build. Will our life bring God glory or shame?
