Our Scripture reading today is Romans 10:17.
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Whether it be saving faith or sanctifying faith, we will not have either without the Word of God. The lost world needs to hear from Christians. What do they need to hear? Paul clearly tells us in this verse they need to be exposed to the Word of God. Who do you know that is not a born again Christian? When is the last time they heard God's Word from you? There are many different ways we can give God's Word to the people we know are unsaved. Pick one today and pray for the Holy Spirit to prepare the heart of whoever you will give it to.
In addition to our giving the Word to the lost, we need the Word to build our walk and our faith. God's Word provides exactly what spiritual nutrients are required to grown in grace. His Word will build our faith and will prepare us for the challenges of life that come our way. God is the giver of faith, and He uses His Word to deliver our faith. More time in the Word will translate to stronger faith.
