Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 7:8-11.
Verse 11, "...how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"
What an amazing truth that we who have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour have God Almighty as our Heavenly Father. The creator God wants to give us good things. The creator God wants to supply all our need. Verse 7 of Matthew 7 tells us to ask, seek and knock and God will provide. We should not wait until we need something to ask for it. In the model prayer, the Lord Jesus encourages us to ask for bread every day. To me this pictures us going to our Father daily for the supply that only He can provide. This is both humbling and exciting at the same time. Humbling to think that God knowing me still wants me to come into His presence. Exciting to think God has all we could ever need. It is time to increase the asking!
