Our Scripture reading today is James 1:22, "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."
All of the reading we do of God's Word should result in changes being made in our life. The more that we hear God's Word taught and preached, the more our life should honour and glorify the LORD. The Word of God changes lives.
We need a revival of not just church attenders, but we need a revival of church hearers! “I fear we have many such in all congregations; admiring hearers, affectionate hearers, hearers, but all the while unblest hearers, because they are not doers of the word.” (Spurgeon)
God's Word applied in our lives will bring blessings now as well as eternal blessings.
