Our Scripture reading today is 2 Timothy 2:2, "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."

The Apostle Paul invested much into his son in the faith, Timothy.  These are some of the last words Paul would write before meeting His Saviour in Heaven.  A reminder and a challenge are given in this verse.  Paul reminds Timothy of everything he has heard him teach - "the things...thou hast heard of me". Then Paul challenges Timothy to pass this teaching on to others who are faithful.

Think of all that God has taught you since you became His child.  Each time we open His word there are lessons and truths to be learned.  We are not learning for the sake of taking in information.  We are learning for the sake of transformation.  God's Word changed and is continuing to change our lives.  A quality that is greatly needed in our homes and churches today is faithfulness.  Are you a faithful follower of Jesus Christ?  Have you been faithful to proclaim the Gospel that was given to you?  Have you been faithful to give God thanks in everything?  We should seriously examine our faithfulness or lack there of and pray for God's help in this matter.
